Becky-Sorry about Matt’s uncle…prayers going up now!

Adrienne-Will you make me some manicotti too?

Becky C-I am worried my first cycle off the BCP’s is going to be long too! I’m not excited about that! We took in all our stuff today from outside

Denise-I seriously just bust out laughing about being pinched in the boobie! How did you decide that being a SAHM was best? We’ve been seriously talking about me staying home and I’m nervous I won’t like it.

Jeannette-Thanks for the heads up on the clothes! We got soooo much from my friends sister that Ben is all set up for the next year! Insane!

Matt and I are talking about me not working IF I get pregnant again. It’s kinda stressful talking about it so we’ll see….We’re all ready for Earl (anyone else sing Good Bye Earl by the Dixie Chicks when they hear the name? Or is it just me?) and hopefully it doesn’t hit us too hard.

Kate ~ I hope Earl leaves ya alone!! As for the SAHM thing, my big factor was my hours at work. I was either going to have to be on a 24 hour shift or 12 hour shift, which translated into 30 hours and 14 hours, and that was IF I got off on time. I hate it. I hated taking her to day care at 4:30 in the morning. I was just miserable. I knew I wanted to stay home. When I first did stay home, I missed work, even though I'd only been back for a few tours at the firehouse. But I realized I missed the people more. And I've fixed that because we have lunch pretty frequently. It's not for everyone but I think MOST people end up loving it. I love letting her sleep in and not having to be somewhere everyday. I love that when I was super sick with this pregnancy, I didn't have to work AND take take of her. I love that I don't have to worry about getting to day care on time or picking up on time. It just totally works out for us and we wouldn't change a thing.

I think that when you get pregnant again, you'll see how you feel about it when you go on maternity leave. With two, you may not want to go back to work.

I'm not sure if any of this helped but I hope so!

I'm getting ready to go to bed. Alexa fell asleep at 8. That's because she didn't take but a 25 minute nap today!!! TTYL.

Kate- Working with more than one child is hard. And the childcare cost becomes enormous for most people. I was paying $100 a day just for Colin and at my house! Olivia was only here from 3:30-5:30pm and she pretty much did her own thing. You'll see how you feel though.

AFM: It looks like I'll be officially unemployed come Sunday. My personal leave time is up and I couldn't find a job at my hospital. My plan is to collect my last 6 weeks of bonding time pay from the state, get my 14 hours in my PTO bank paid out to me (the combined amount will be like $2500 or so), and file for unemployment. We will go back on DH's health insurance for October 1st unless my COBRA is cheap which I highly doubt. So I'll be a full-time SAHM for at least the next year or so. We will reassess for next school year. Oh, and Colin is going to preschool 2 days a week starting in October as well. It's really important to me that he have something for himself and be socialized with other kids. We belong to a MOMS Club here but I think he'll really benefit from preschool! Oh, and he peed on the potty for the very first time today!!! They potty train at preschool too so he will be introduced to the potty each day. He's almost 26 months so he's very young still, but he's very verbal and whatnot so he'll do great IMO.
Jillian is 12 weeks old today! Olivia starts 2nd grade on Tueday!

Kate- I hope Earl doesnt hit you hard.

Jeannette- That is great Colin is going to school! So is peeing on potty!!! Daycare really helped Brennan when he was potty training! I hope you enjoy being a SAHM!

Both boys are sick just in time for the beach. I had to give Brennan a breathing treatment last night. I slept in living room with him. I wanted to be close so I can keep eye on his breathing. He seems a little better this morning but now Leo his stuffy and coughing. FUN

Becky- Hope the boys feel better and it doesn't ruin the holiday weekend! Have fun!

Kate- I love being a WAHM/SAHM, but some days you get need "me" days! So, that is my weekends. I go out and work part time, made some awesome girlfriends, and make extra cash.

Jeanette- wow tons of clothes I have a ton here and trying to decide if I should get rid of them by selling them or save them for #3??

Denise- My DH wants to become an EMT and it shocked me! How are you feeling??

AFM: Fighting allergies! Matt had to go into work for a little bit today, since he thought he had the day off my plans kinda got messed up. Stupid disbatch at 8:30pm! Anyways, nothing much going on...we are going school shopping later tonight.

I have been bitten hard by the baby bug!!! It wasn't so bad the first 3 months it was okay we are going to try for another and when it happens it happens....well every where around me are friends that are pregnant or have babies! Smile

Heather- sorry about baby bug hitting hard. I hope you have your BFP soon.

So Brennan has a fundraiser for school. I know they are annoying and I hate asking people to buy stuff. DH took to see if his mom wanted to look at it. She told him not to ask his sister and others b/c they have theri own kids fundraisers. Again I do not care if people buy stuff and am not pushing it at all. I just think it is pretty crappy to say not even ask since we have bought from their kids in the past. Guess we will have to start saying No to girlscout cookies since we have our own fundraisers now!

Post by ajvinsh on Fri Sep 03, 2010 9:47 am

Morning all

Thanks Denise... today was much easier getting him off to school. I was feeling pretty cruddy myself yesterday.

Becky... still praying that all goes well with DH's uncle...
That is annoying about fundraisers. Nathaniel just brought one home for band... almost forgot he did... guess i better look at it ~sigh~

I got another rejection on my book... but I like it when they say it is interesting or like this one said it had merit...
I sent a few more out... just keep your fingers crossed. While I am waiting to hear on that I have started on two more... some days I seem to be in a romance mood and others a mystery...
I got to a point in the romance that I can see as that first page that people read in the store before buying... the teaser so to speak, so i want to share... hehehe

With no more thought, he strode across the room and took hold of her hand. She stopped and gave him a startled look, then quickly realized what he was doing as he placed his other hand on her waist.
Smoothly, he twirled her around the empty ballroom, an imaginary waltz playing somewhere in the silence. His hand felt warm on her waist, the sensation traveling through her gown to her skin, sending waves of tingles all up and down her spine. Their eyes locked together. The uncertainty of their feelings, spiraling in the air around them like autumn leaves in the wind.
Becca bit her bottom lip nervously and held her breath.
The simple gesture caused Rees’ skin to tighten around him. He could feel her body quivering under his touch, and knew he should release her, move away from the temptation. But the need to have her was growing stronger with each passing second. He couldn’t pull his eyes from hers. Does she know what kind of spell she holds over him with those eyes? She could ask for the moon and he would jump for it.
Those eyes… he breathed, those beautiful hypnotic eyes. He has seen them filled with fear, anger and laughter. How would they look glazed with passion?
But… she didn’t want this marriage and he would not put it past her to run if he tried to touch her as she had warned. That much, at least he had learned about her. This he could feel… was pushing it, holding her this close… the waltz for years had been thought to be a seductive dance before finally accepted by society.
He hadn’t wanted this union either, not until now. Now he was more afraid of her running and never being able to see her again. What changed all of the sudden? What if he could guarantee not to get her with child? He could withdraw just before releasing his seed into her. Would she allow it then and still stay?
“Becca…” he breathed, stopping the dance.

Jeannette ~ I'm glad you're staying home to recover and spend time with Jillian! And yay for Colin and preschool. I didn't know they took them at 2.

Heather ~ no one thought I'd ever be and EMT, let alone a firefighter or a medic. I would throw up at the sound of other people getting sick!! LOL. But I learned to deal with it and I actually loved being on the medic unit. But doing it for a job burns you out when you are constantly running the "frequent fliers". They suck. But I say if he wants to do it, go for it. And who knows, it could lead to a job change. Medics make pretty good money ~ I was making almost $70,000 when I quit. But I was also a firefighter, too, and worked for a government so I was on a payscale.

Aara ~ sorry about the rejection letters.

Becky ~ I would ask, too, especially since you bought from them. Fair is fair.

Hi to EOE. I'm just trying to get motivated today. I need to do some laundry and then go to Kohl's later to buy my niece's birthday present. They are having a huge sale on kid's clothes and I have an extra 15% off so I should get some good deals. TTYL

Denise-Yep it did help=) I’m trying to get a lot of opinions from people that used to work and then went the SAHM route. I really like the people I work with too.

Jeanette-Yay for Colin peeing on the potty! Childcare is what I’m concerned about plus I want to see them grow up!

Heather-Isn’t it bad when the bug gets you! LOL I don’t want to have to “try” this time I want it to be easy!

Aara-Sorry about the rejection letters but I’m glad there was some positive feedback in there.

So Earl is doing a whole bunch of nothing right now…which I am very happy for! I have to leave to go to calling hours for my grandfather’s sister and then home to clean up a little because my cousin and her boyfriend are coming from Rochester NY.

Hey ladies! I've been lurking but decided I better make an appearance. LOL

Becky--I'm so sorry about your uncle. Any more new on his condition? Sorry the boys are sick. Hope you are still able to have fun at the beach.

Heather--TTC is hard. It's hard to believe I am saying this, but I am glad we have stopped trying. After a while it begins to take over all your thoughts. Apparently the wife of one of DH's classmates (I've become friends w/her) is wanting to get PG again. She is a sweet girl & they have 2 boys already, but apparently they want 4-5 kids. He was telling DH that she wants to get PG next month so their mom's could come out during the summer to help with the boys when the baby is born. He is stressing out b/c she already wants him to help out more at home when he is trying to study for school. They have 32 months left in this program. I don't know what they are going to do. On the one hand I can understand her want for a baby (the other lady we are friends with has a 9 month old) but then again I can't even imagine the added stress for me & DH if we were to become PG now...it would almost be like being a single mom. Ok, enough of my rambling.

Stacy--I saw on FB that you have moved into your new place. Any pictures to share?

Denise--I am so looking forward to cooler weather this weekend!

AFM: Went bowling again with DH's CRNA friends. On Monday we are going to drive up to Summersville Lake. It's about 1 1/2 hrs away and is supposed to have a nice beach and picnic area. We thought about staying close by and doing a BBQ at a park, but this is probably the only time they will have a relatively homework free weekend, especially one that coincides with my weekend off from work. I'm excited! I've been looking up the place on line and have printed out directions and such. Now we all just have to decide on what we want to bring to eat. Yum!

hey ladies!
i dont know where to begin!
we are moved in, loving it, so close that we walk to work everyday. We go on the 21st of this month to a specialist for the "meet and greet" and information session so see where we stand etc. we are excited but I am alittle nervous i guess. how do these things go? what is the process? does anyone know about how much it costs? i know for sure our insurance does not cover it. I called and asked. Although DH had a 3rd interview the other day and maybe if he gets that job we may have a different insurance. I will have to do persies later, i feel like a bad internet friend, lol we still do not have internet so i am at my moms house and i only have a few moments. but my gosh everyones babies are getting so big!!
any help/advice on the invetro please let me know. I am not sure how i feel about the whole thing or if it would be right for us since my body reacted so negatively to the clomid. have a great weekend all.

I don't have any advice on the in vitro stuff since we decided not to go that route, but I wish you the best. TTC a Miracle 2009 - Page 36 Empty Re: TTC a Miracle 2009

Post by sstjohn77 on Mon Sep 06, 2010 12:34 pm

Hi Ladies - Aorry I have been MIA. We moved to a new place and Brody started a new daycare, not to mention that he has had a cold on and off for two weeks now so I have spent all my time trying to unpack and take care of him. Brody is so congested. I wish there was something I could do for him. His nose is runny and his congestion has moved into his chest so he sounds all congested when he coughs. Poor thing. I have tried sitting in the bathroom with him while I run hot water and it works while we are in there but once we leave he begins to cough again. Anyone have any remedies that have worked in the past.

We are loving our new place. We moved to a place that is inbetween where I currently work and Smithfield RI which is where I am told I will be working as of 2012 sometime. The crazy thing is that I am now 20-30 minutes closer to where I currently work and am only 30 minutes from Smithfield which is shorter then my commute was from our other house.

Work has been very crazy. I have been working so many hours. UGH. I am hoping things slow down a bit because I want to take a Zumba class and I found one on Tuesday and Thursday nights but I need to work less hours to be able to go.

I am also thinking of starting a Working Mom's Group. It would be a group that meets on evenings and weekends so working Monm's can be part of play dates and Mom's night's out to. Every group around me is for Stay at home Mom's and they only meet during the day which obviously does not work for me. I really want to be part of a Mom's group and was frustrated when I realized that all of the ones around me only meet when I have to be at work. Do you think it would be difficult to start a group? Most of the ones around me are rather formal and collect dues and stuff so I am wondering if it might be a much bigger task then I am thinking it would be. I just want to create a forum for Mothers to get together once in a while.

Brody is 7months old as of yesterday and he is not crawling yet. He simply refuses to crawl. He would rather roll all over the pplace,, although he LOVES his walker. He runs in it. Do you think it is possible for a child to skip crawling and just walk. I am thinking he may just roll around for the next few months and then walk. LOL

Ok, Brody is rolling across the livingroom. I need to go grab him. Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Maureen - I am going to take some pictures of the new house within the next week or so. I will post them once I have them. So glad you and DH are having such a good time.

Jeannette - YAY for Colin peeing on the potty!!

Becky - I hope the boys feel better. It must be going around.

Shannon - So glad to hear everything is going so well. That is such great news.

Shannon-Glad you are finally moved it!!! Nice to hear from you:) My friend Alison is taking clomid now for her first IUI that could be as early as wednesday, she goes for her u/s tomorrow. Please keep us posted about your appointment on the 21st!!!

Stacey-Glad the move went well and you are all settled in. I hope Brody is feeling better soon. When Nick gets congested I use the cool mist vaporizer and the Vicks childrens plug ins and put baby vicks on his chest. It does the trick! I think a working mom's group would be great...how would you start it though?

AFM-So I am having a really frustrating couple of days with Nick. His whining is just getting out of hand and apparently according to his sitters and DH its only when I am there. He whines all day and night when I am with him. I am beginning to think I am doing something wrong. I give him attention and constantly play with him when I am home. He is talking more but really doesn't use many words to ask for what he wants so I don't know if he's frustrated about that which causes him to whine. But I don't know why its just me he's like that with. I cried today because I was just so frustrated that I don't make him happy. I know thats crazy but I can't help feeling like I am doing something wrong. Anyone have any advice?

Thanks for listening Smile

Stacey-good to hear from you! My friends son didn't start crawling until he was 10 months...but at that point he didn't even scoot he just up and crawled....so maybe Brody is taking that path. I'm glad you guys are liking where you live instead of having cows in your yard! I should take a class at night like Zumba...maybe I'll look for one too!

Becky C-Sorry you're feeling so frustrated. I would be the same way if it seemed like I was the cause in negative behavior in Ben. I don't really have any suggestions for you but maybe try BBC and see if anyone there has any?

My cousin and her bf were here this weekend. I am not a fan. It was the first time we met him and he just rubbed me the wrong way. Come to find out her brother doesn't like him either becuase he texted Matt asking him what he thought. Whatever if she's happy that is what matters becuase I'm not dating him! Nor are we even living in the same state! LOL

Kate - Good luck with making your decision about stopping work! I haven't heard of too many women who don't like staying home with their kids. I will be a Stay at Home Mom for my babies.

Jeannette - Are you looking forward to being a stay at home mom for a year?

Becky - How are your kids feeling? Hopefully they're getting over being sick.

Heather - Allergies stink! Do you take anything for them?

Maureen - Sounds like you're keeping busy! Nice to hear from you!

Shannon - Are you meeting with an RE? Try not to be too nervous about meeting with him/her. Chances are, they will guide you through the meeting and you really won't have to think about it too much. Making a list of questions that you have is a great idea and is something that I recommend. Sometimes it's easy to forget what you want to ask them or to let them know of any concerns that you have. Regarding cost, one consultation with our RE was about $300, I think. Most of what we did with our RE was out of pocket as well. Is there a certain process that you're considering doing or not doing at this point (i.e. IUI vs. IVF, injectables, etc.)? If you have any questions about anything, feel free to let me know.

Stacey - Nice to hear from you! Sounds like Brody is getting big and that you're adjusting well to your new home! Good luck with starting your Mom's group!

Becky C. - I don't have any advice about Nick's whining, but hopefully it will pass soon. It's probably hard to realize this, but I doubt that he's whining over anything that you're doing wrong.

AFM - I had a nice weekend just hanging out with my husband and doing some random stuff. He's been saying some really cute stuff lately. For instance, tonight he said "I love your belly." I said "Really? Thanks. What makes you say that?" He said, "Because my babies are in there." Smile I love that stuff!!!

We also looked at cars over the weekend and my husband wants to get a Toyota Sienna Mini-Van. I always said that I would never get a mini-van, but it really does make sense for us. They are so practical. We've decided that to up the coolness factor, we're going to pimp it out so it will be fully loaded! I have to admit, it's kinda fun! Smile

Heather- sorry for having to TTC. I hope this next month is your lucky one!

Shannon- yay for moving! Good luck with the appt!

Stacey- also yay for moving!

Becky- sorry for the frustration with Nick. Dont think you are doing something wrong. It is probably jsut a phase. Whenever I go pick the obys up at my moms they start getting wild and acting up. She said they are fine until I get there. No idea why??

Clare- I said the same thing about minivans but I can not wait to get one!!

Thankfully the boys were feeling better and we had a great time at the beach! It wasnt really relaxing b/c I was chasing Leo!! The boys loved playing in the sand and swimming! Leo is gonna be my fish! He just wears floaties on his arms. He will jump in on his own and swim back to the wall! Pretty good without any lessons! We had Brennans family bday party out there. He had 6 cousins out. They had a blast!

Ahhhh....I am soooo nervous Ezra starts Pre-K today! I have to get him on the bus around 11am and get him off the bus at 2:30pm Smile I am sure he will be fine.

Thanks for all the thoughts about TTC....maybe I am upset cause both boys came so easy and this one seems so hard. I am not stressed about it just thought it would happen by now.

Becky- Glad the boys are better

Clare- that is cute. We have to get a second car and we are talking about a van or a 3 rowed SUV.

Becky C.- The whinning my be just something that he does with you cause you give in when he does it? IDK??

Stacey- I have heard some babies skip crawling and go straight to walking. My boys were crawling at 6 mths and walking by 8-9 mths. My neice is 9 mths and she is walking etc. I think it just depends on the baby.

Well I have to get some stuff done before my busy/quiet day begins.

Becky C- Your not doing anything wrong. It's a phase for him and he is testing you to see your limits. All children do this in different ways to see how far they can go and how much they can get away with. Also children will almost alway act one way for a babysitter or daycare but act another way for their parents. I would sit down with Nick at some point during the day and explain to him that you will not repsond to him while he is useing his whiny voice. That he will have to talk to you in a regular way and then he can have waht he wants and see if that works. If he get's upset and throws a tantrum then you could use time out or whatever method you choise as punishment. It's a start to nip it in the butt. I know this from practice since I have a7 year old that will still whine and I can't stand it!!! Good LUck and your a wonderful mommy!!

Aara - Sorry I wasn't able to stay longer next time I will. your house is huge lol!!! I haven't read the revised version yet becuase I know it will take me a while so I am waiting for enough time. I'll let you know when I get it finished.

Becky - I'm glad the boys were good enough to enjoy the beach. I wish I had a beach close by to go to Smile

Jeanette - I forgot to ask you how your procedure went? Did you have it done yet?

Maureen - the weekend getaway and fun sounds great! I hope you guys had a fun and exciting weekend! Ohh and some good food too!!

Shannon- I'm not sure what treatment your looking into. I personally don't have any experience with invitro. But I did have 2 IUI's with assist from Clomid and I was able to concieve olivia. You can also do them without clomid as well and they are still effective. As for my payments and such. My insurance had a clause in it that defined infertility as a 2 year span. If you were not able to conceive within 2 year and diagnosed with unexplained inferitiliy it covered 50% of the IUI and all lab work was covere but one test and that ws 90 bucks. So I had to a total of 300 dollars for the IUI's and 90 bucks for that one test and that was all my charges. But again IVF was something that wasn't covered too so we knew that wasn't an option. I hope that helps you. Good Luck.

Clare - Glad to see your feeling ok. I was just thinking of you the other day!

Stacey - Brody is getting so big! Love the profile picture and glad to see your getting settled in.

Kate - I am glad you had a good time at the Sox game. Ouch!! That hurt just typing that out, since we are die hard Yankee fans lol lol!! The pictures are so cute looks like Ben had a blast.

Heather - When other pregnancies happen so quickly I am sure it's gonna make you feel frustrated not being able to get pregnant again so quickly. But in Hinsight it's only be 2 active cycles so that 's not bad at all. They say it can take and average of 10 months to get pregnant or something like that lol. Heck it took me 5 years to get pregnant with my 3rd. LOL LOL. I think it's the funny for me though. She was the only one that was planned and it took the longest the others were surprises and BAM!!! Good LUck and keep your chin up it will happen!!

Well I have had my period heavy now since August 16th!!! This is the second month in a row like this. It will evnd hopefully next week sometime be away for 2 weeks and come back!! I made an appt with the doctor for tomorrow. i have always have aheavy periods it just never never been this long. I can't take it anymore. I went through pads and tampons and had to buy more. I don't have a sex life and it's interefereing with my life!! So hopefully the doc can give me something to help it!
I start school on October 18th for Phelbotemy technician. I am excited it will take 8 months but it's something I have wanted to do for such long time. I will be going full time and the State will be paying for my daycare becuase our income is under a certain limit. But taht's all about me for now. Hope all is well. I have to go and get Olivia the screamer before she wakes up her sister. I hate that lol.

Denise - BTW you had me laughing out loud about the boob being pinched I even shared with my hubby he thought it was funny too!!!
