Aara- Very cute!! I didnt get a lot of sleep either. Leo has been getting up every night again. Last night it was 3:30 and I sat in the chair with he. We went back to sleep but not very well. The B got up at 4:45 and joined us.

Sorry I've been MIA lately. Things have been really busy with my parents coming down to visit and work.

Stacey - Congrats again on the birth of your little boy. Kieya was "Sunny Side Up" also. My doctor told me that if she would have been any bigger I would have ended up with a c-section. Glad you and Brody are both home & doing well. I love all the pics. He is so cute! As for the crying, I had the same problem. It lasted for about 2 weeks (I think) and then it got better. I think it was just because of hormones being off. As for breast feeding. I bf Kieya and I will admit it was not easy at 1st but as the feedings got further apart it got better. Also I pumped so Sheldon would get up and give her a bottle of breast milk sometimes and if I didn't have any milk pumped & was just too tired he would mix her up a little formula. I just breast feed when I could. By the time she was 4 months I stopped bf though because it was hard for me to pump when at work so my supply had greatly decreased. If you do decide that you don't want to bf that is okay. You have to do whatever is right for you.

Aara - Good luck with the house.

Maureen - Glad to hear the hospital is very interested in hiring you.

Clare - Good luck with your IVF cycle.

Candice - Glad your shower went great & you got a lot of things that you need.

Gigi - Glad you are feeling better.

Sorry to all those that I'm forgetting right now. I better get back to work so I'll check back in later today.

Candice - Wow! You are busy! It has to be so exciting though. L&D would be scary to think about, but you'll do great and have your little man when you're all done! I don't blame you for hiring someone to clean for awhile. That would certainly be helpful once Carson is here! I have daydreamed about hiring someone to clean when I have a baby someday too. You're right in that IVF is overwhelming to think about sometimes. The past couple of nights, it's been somewhat hard for me to shut my mind off in order to get some sleep. I'm trying to do what you say though and just take it one step at a time. Hopefully I respond well to the meds and don't get too sick from them either. It's nice to have you around for questions. I'll let you know what my protocol is when I get it.

Maureen - I didn't know that you could lose your license from all of that and the whole abandoning a patient thing. Wow. That would really suck for the person that was waiting for the late employee to show up. I would have been mad. Good luck with your problem employee and your presentation too!

Becky - Yay for a good appointment for Leo! He's getting so big! Smile

Denise - Good luck with your class!

Aara - The house looks cute! Keep us posted on how it goes!

AFM - Thanks everyone for the support! As always, I appreciate it. I'm so afraid of being judged by people for doing this. I'm not sure why, but I just hesitate so much to talk to anyone about it - in real life, especially. It seems like everyone has their opinions about it. So thanks for the kind words!

Ugh, so the little kid puking on me at the Little Gym monday gave Nick the stomach bug. He is acting ok, but I had to pick him up from my cousins cause he puked EVERYWHERE! He has been puking about once a week now, but never more than one time in a day. If he is fine after this and it isn't the bug I think we definitely need to go see a GI specialist asap.

I will be back for persies later!

Alicia-Thanks!

Well looks like it is the stomach bug, gave him some pedialyte and cheerios. When he woke up from a nap he puked everything up Sad He is acting totally normal though, causing destruction everywhere he goes. He was upset and just wanted to be held after he puked, but now hes acting fine...would he be acting sick if it was the stomach bug?

Sorry about Nick Becky C...hope he feels better...

I did get a nap in today, but then I woke up feeling terrible...blah...

Clare, I just want to say in my own opinion and I know that it does not change the way you feel...that you should not worry about anyone judging you at all for doing anything you can to have a baby of your own...you have tried many things before getting to this point and it has not worked. You should not have to worry about judgment from anyone, you deserve a baby as much as anyone that truly wants a baby deserves one and you will love it and care for it as much as anyone else would that love their babies...just b/c you had to go a different way then others does not make the fact that you will be an excellent mother any different then if you had been able to conceive normally...
I am sorry if none of that made sense...lol...it made sense in my head but typing it I am not sure if it did...lol

well my brother is in the hospital with my one month old nephew...apparently he was not holding down any breastmilk so they tried formula and he has not moved his bowels in two days and he is not holding down the formula. the doctors tried giving him other liquids last night and he is not holding those down either and his vomit is become more projectial...last time i heard they did a u/s and found nothing so they were sending it to a specialist in the hospital...i have not heard anything since this afternoon...i hate it when doctors do not know what is going on...

I know that I shouldn't worry about what other people think and I'm trying to get better at it. Sorry to hear about your nephew - that sounds awful. I hope he gets better soon. Clare--I agree that you shouldn't worry about what others think...really, what business is it of theirs how you got PG? I sometimes get people asking me why I don't do IVF when I explain I can't have kids. So I get judged the opposite way, LOL. Just because one treatment plan is right for one person doesn't mean it's right for another. I can't wait to hear about your BFP and your pregnancy experience!

Heather--Wow, you have been a busy woman! Do you mind me asking why you closed down your other business? What kind of new business did you start? That's a hard call for what your DH should do. If he really likes his old job and you can budget for his times of layoff, it might be worth it.

Becky--Glad the new dress fits so perfect! Sorry the boys are still not letting you rest.

Becky C--Sorry Nick has the stomach flu, I hope he recovers soon.

Hi to everyone else!

AFM: My presentation went ok, I was nervous as hell (I always am) but I got some great feedback. My boss did my performance eval today (it was due back in June...but she's been trying catch up on everyone's eval). I teased her that she could write whatever she wanted and I would sign it b/c I am leaving in a few weeks. I had a good talk with her, she was asking for some advice on how she can coach the nurse who will be taking over some of the administrative duties that I've been doing, and then just chit-chatted for a while, lol.
DH and I just got back from the mall...we bought Pandorum and Zombieland. Pizza delivery just arrived...and it was free b/c we are frequent customers (we order there about once a month). Now it's pizza and movie time!
Have a great night everyone!

Post by ajvinsh Thu Feb 18, 2010 8:06 am

okay...real quick b/c Nathaniel is dragging this morning for some reason...

I think I have come down with a bad cold...I took a nap yesterday b/c of not getting any sleep the night before and the kids were both actually napping well so I could, but when I woke up I felt worse.

Lynn has her 18 month appt today, poor baby gets shots...get to see how much she has grown

We responded to the seller about the inspections and asked for two changes...that they take care of the termites and take $2k off the price to deal with the electrical issue...
Tracy called us lasy night and said they agreed to taking off the $2k for electrical and they talked to the pest control person the selling agent uses and he says that they cannot effectively take care of termites in the winter b/c they are dormant and burrow in deep, so the stuff to klill them would not get close enough...so if they do not get to take care of the termites before closing the cost for it will be escrowed - though I do not understand all of that it is apparently a good thing and Tracy said the banks I am sure have dealt with stuff like this before, that if the appraisal person see's it and make a comment about it then we will cross that bridge when we come to it...some appraisal people just walk through and some really look at things...who knows...but so far so good. Rob meets with the loan broker guy on Friday to get all of that started...

Maureen - yeah for movie and pizza night, hope it was enjoyable

Heather - why did you start a new business? I thought you liked your other one...
I don't really have an advice on DH and his job situation...I guess if he liked the job and it was a good one it would be good to go for it and plan financially for the winter when he gets laid off...

Clare - I'm glad it made sense...

Aara ~ that's good news! Into escrow means that they will hold money aside to pay for it. So, come spring (or whenever is the best time to deal with termites) they'll be able to do the work and the money will already be there.

Heather C ~ yay for your new business! I hope it takes off and runs like the wind - I'm sure it will!

Clare ~ I've told you this before but I don't think that anyone who hasn't dealt with infertility or who doesn't know what you've been through personally has a right to judge you. To me, no matter how its conceived, this is still YOUR baby. And if no one likes it, I'll come and beat them up for you!

Maureen ~ I *heart* pizza. Seriously. I could eat it every day. The only thing I don't like about my town is that I haven't found a good place to go and have pizza. Sometimes I like it right from the oven. I hope that other RN that doesn't come to work gets canned. And I am still hoping and praying for the WV job to come through!

Becky C ~ oy. Poor Nick. I hope that it was just a temporary bug and it's gone today. I saw Alexa pulling on her ear last night but she doesn't have a fever and was running around like a mad woman. I think she has a lot of wax in there and she feels it. Or it's her teeth.

Alicia ~ how are things going? Still studying for your exam in May?

Holly ~ how are you feeling? Has your pain lessened? I hope that you are getting back to normal.

Hi to EOE. I was up at 7 this am for no good reason. So I've started laundry and am catching up on my emails. I was supposed to go meet some girls I used to work with for lunch but I just didn't feel like driving the 45 minutes to get there. So I bailed. Bad me. I am going to finish my paper today and get that off to the class and hopefully get my workout in early. I had a chiro appointment yesterday and OMG I was in so much pain last night. But I feel good today. I guess I was just really out of alignment.

I'm going to grab some breakfast before Diva wakes up.

b bk in a bit...just need to scream a second AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I am about ready to strangle Nathaniel...
They have a field trip today and they are to bring packed lunches...He asked me if I know when he is to pick up his packed lunch at school today. Confused I asked what he was talking about...he said that they told him he was to get a packed lunch from the cafeteria. Still confused I asked why...
are you ready for this one...
b/c I told them that my mom does not let me pack my lunch, so the teacher said I will get a packed lunch from the cafeteria

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Nathaniel confused as normal makes me look like an ass to everyone else...
he asked me about packing his lunch for school a few times towards the beginning of the year and I told him no b/c he gets free lunches from school

the other month he didn't like the lunch and the teacher told him to get the alternative if he didn't like it. he told her that mom said I am not alloowed to get the alternative...mom had said that I don't want him to get the alternative just to get the alternative (which is usually a pb&j sandwich and he was getting it everyday) that I want him to get the lunch lunch...maybe a little not thinking on my part I should have said unless you do not like what is being served...but again mom looks like an ass to the teachers b/c Nathaniel opens his mouth without understanding...

Rob and I worry a lot about when he goes to visit his dad (who we have not heard from in months) and grandparents...

Aara-I am glad they took the money off the house! Hope you start feeling better soon! I hope you get the situation worked out with Nathaniels lunches.

Maureen-Sounds like they are really going to miss you at the hospital. I am glad your presentation went well!

Denise-I would have probably bailed too, lol. If there is something I don’t feel like doing I have a hard time going. Hope Alexa pulling on her ear isn’t anything! Have her molars come through yet? Nicks are so purple and swollen and have been for so long I don’t think they are ever going to come out!

Becky-Nicks better today! Glad DH got up with Leo.

AFM-Nick has kept breakfast down, so far so good. Gave him pedialyte, cheerios, and a half a banana and is doing fine. Might try to give him a little milk for lunch. I gave him his zantac in pedialyte this morning. I always put the zantac and a little bit of milk in these tiny bottles we have. I handed it to him with the pedialyte this morning, he took one sip, looked at me and handed it back, lol.

Stinks that I had to take a day off of work. MIL was supposed to have him today. I called her last night to tell her what was going on and she told me she had our niece today too and didn’t want to risk getting her sick, which I totally understand. I wanted to be the one home with him anyway, but at the same point she is supposed to have Nick on Thursdays and had no intention on taking him if he was sick because she was worried about our niece catching it. Oh well, I am glad its me home with him, I would have been worrying all day.

Becky C- Hope Nick is feeling better today. We had that stomach bug so badly that I thought I was going to die. At least today we feel better. Good thing b/c I have to work 3 out of the next 4 nights!

I never work like this but the schedule was all weird. And a friend was supposed to take Sunday night for me b/c she needs extra shifts but she ended up taking another job so she starts that one on Monday morning. Found out that Colin is going for his endoscopy next Friday. He still isn't gaining any weight. He was only 22lbs again on Tuesday and that was after 4oz. of milk and a small snack. He's also on Prevacid twice a day now for the reflux as that is getting worse too.

I'm reading but can't catch up on persies right now. Need to shower and do some more stuff around the house to prepare for this work run I'll be in. I'll try to catch up over the weekend.

Jeannette-Hope the next three shifts go by quickly for you and I am glad you are all feeling better. I am hoping DH and I don't catch it. I guess we will see! Nick was on the prevacid for awhile, is it the disolvable tablets? They used to be such a pain in the butt to give him. He for some reason does better on the zantac. I am still a little worried that this isn't a stomach bug because he has been acting fine, just vomiting. Which he does from time to time. I hope everything goes well with Colins endoscopy. I am hoping to not have to go that route with Nick, but if he keeps going the way he is I think I am going to get him in to see a GI specialist.

Becky C ~ her two bottom molars are in, the top left has broken thru a bit and the top right is ready to break. So that is why I'm thinking she's pulling on her ear. She always seems to do it with her upper teeth. Now her canines look all puffy Sad At least after those, I'll get a little break! I hope Nick is on the mend!

Jeannette ~ yuck for your work and prayers for everything else going on.

Aara ~ here's my thought - if the teacher's take his word for it, they shouldn't have their job. They should know that things get confused. I would think they would just give you a call to straighten things up.

Post by sstjohn77 Thu Feb 18, 2010 12:07 pm

Jeannette - Thanks for the advice about getting some sleep. I am still bf'ing. Taking it day by day.

Becky C. - I would be so mad at my MIL if she decided to take my child to Disney without talking to me about it first. I can not believe that she did nto think that would be an issue.

Denise - It is so good to hear that a child was formula fed and did just fine and is not sick all the time. I have to laugh at the things Alexa is doing. Especially sticking peanut butter up her nose. I know I am going to be there very soon and most likley will not think it is so funny while I am going through it but it did give me a laugh picturing her. LOL

Aara - We would not qualify for WIC either so buying formula would be expensive but it may be worth it. I am still bf'ing and taking it day by day right now. I want to try to keep up with it but I feel like all I do is bf these days and do not get much time to spend bonding with Brody. Praying for your nephew. Hope they figureout what is wrong quickly.

Clare - I am praying IVF works for you!!!

Gigi - Yeah for a new dishwasher. I wish I had one but our kitchen is way to small. I can not wait to move into a newer bigger house with all kinds of ammenities that our 100 year old house does not have. LOL Hope you feel better you are so close now.

Holly - Yeah for having such a snuggly baby. I can not wait for that.

Adrienne - Yeah for winning that contest!!

Alicia - Thanks for the advice. I am taking it day by day but have formula in case we decide to stop bf'ing.

I am taking bf'ing one day at a time. I swear he does ok on my left boob but my right one kills. Also, my milk supply in my left is much higher then my right. I assume it is because everything ismuch more comfortable with the left one. I just worry that he is not getting enough to eat. He will feed for say 30 minutes or more and then fall asleep. So I will get up and put himin his pack and play and he wakes up 10 minutes later rooting around for food. This happens every time. I do not understand how come this is happening. I guess maybe I am not making enough milk. When I pump I get anywhere from 1-2 ozs per boob within 15 minutes of pumping so how come after 30 minutes of sucking he is still hungry? I want to keep bf'ing but I just think switching to formula full time would be so much eaasier and give me more time to spend playing with Brody. DH is also trying to help out a little more at night. He actually got up on his own with Brody twice now.

Brody had his two week apt on Wednesday and is doing very well. His birth weigh was 7lbs 3ozs and when we left the hospital he weighed 6lbs 12ozs, which was 5 days after his birth. Now 2 weeks after his birth he weighs 7lbs 13 ozs. He gained 12ozs in 7 days so the Dr. was very pleased. I swear it is because I am top feeding him with Formula after each bf'ing session. Because he was losing weigh in the hospital when I was just bf'ing him.

DH father and step mother are driving up from PA tomorrow. They are going to stay in a nearby hotel and help out with Brody for the weekend. I am torn as it will be so nice to have the help but company tends to take a lot of work. Hopefully they will be able to fend for themselves and that they will have fun playing with Brody.

Jeannette- sorry you were all sick. I am glad you are feeling better.

Stacey- I think it is great that you are sticking to BF for now. I know it is a difficult thing. If the time comes and you do not want to do it anymore do not feel bad or quilty about it. YOu need to do what is best for you and baby. I only BF Brennan for 2 months and Leo not at all and they are both very healthy. As for formula I used Sams club version of enfamil and liked it .

Stacey - he sounds like a cluster feeder...alex was the same, eat a lil and fall asleep...wake up and eat and for a while it will be that way. you say you are pumping from the right? a thought occured to me I had problems getting lynn to take a side b/c there was to much milk in it and she could not get a good latch...
another thought is that when he wakes up, and acts as if he is searching he may not be hungry but maybe just needs something to suck on...like a bink...again...alex was like that...
It's great that you are continuing to try, breastfeeding is a way of bonding between mother and child, but you need to make the choice that is right for you...I fed all three of mine until 6 months...alex was longer, he was 9 months...

well lynn had her 18 month checkup and all looks great...i forgot her shot records from the other doctor, so doctor harris said just bring them in and he will see what needs done, if it is just a matter of the hep b then that can be done at 2 yrs...he did not want to give her any shots she didn't need b/c some peds do the order a lil differently...like his ped does it in a different order then he does...lol
I did not hear her height b/c she was crying everytime the nurse or doctor touched her and then lunge for mommy as soona s they let go, but her weight is 21 a little low, but not bad and her height I know is in the 50%

apparently tim is doing a lil better, he is holding down the apple juice they are giving him and ben says they are giving him to much b/c now he is blowing out diapers...they put a tube in his throat last night and took it out this morning to check his acid reflux...waiting on those results

HI~

Hope everyone is doing well. I will do more personals later.

As for the business closing it was actually a good thing in a way. GG was a DBA which is good for taxes etc. But this one is an LLC. Same thing I was doing just different name, policies etc.

DBA's are bad and good at some points. DBA's are bad because it doesn't protect you or your assets, like the LLC does.
